=Wasaga Beach Council is expected to ratify its decision today, to demolish a century-old farmhouse on Klondike Park Road.
Council’s co-ordinated committee approved a recommendation to tear down the farmhouse at the sports park, after a staff report estimated that the cost to repair the building would be over $300, 000.
However, it would only cost about 9-grand to have it torn down and not even 20-thousand dollars to replace it with a gazebo and commemorative garden.
The home was built by Hiram Wilson in 1890, and last operated as a dairy farm until the 1970’s.
*The Town says it is aware of interest in buying the property and staff is also researching the feasibility.
