Wasaga Beach’s mayor has some concerns about the province allowing beaches, including in Wasaga, to open this Friday.
Nina Bifolchi says they have not received confirmation from the local Ontario Parks office.
She says it isn’t known at this point whether Ontario Parks will be able to open the beach washrooms or their parking lots on Friday.
As for the town lots which were closed a week ago at the request of OPP and Ontario Parks, Mayor Bifolchi says council will be discussing this on Thursday.
She adds that the expectation would be that residential parking pass holders will still continue to have a spot reserved for them at the main beach area.
Nina Bifolchi says her message to all beach goers is to be respectful of each other and observe physical distancing when in stores and patios, parking lots, on trails, and at
the beachfront.
