Three people have been arrested for impaired driving by Huronia West OPP in a 24-hour time span.
The first driver was stopped just after 10:30 the morning of December 20th, when police stopped a black 4-door sedan near Zoo Park and River Road West, and found that the 34-year-old driver was impaired by a drug. They’re charged with operation while impaired and taking a motor vehicle without consent, as well as failure to comply with a demand.
Later on, just after 12:30 pm, officers in Springwater Township stopped a vehicle on Horseshoe Valley Road near Highway 26, after they witnessed the vehicle swerving and driving erratically. the 64-year-old driver from Bracebridge was charged with impaired operation over 80.
In the third vehicle stop, just before 9:30 the morning of December 21st, police were called to a single-vehicle collision where a pickup truck had overturned in Clearview. Witnesses at the scene had suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The 22-year-old from Adjala-Tosorontio was charged with impaired driving, failure to remain, and failure to report a collision.
All accused parties named above have been released and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. Until then, they face 90-day drivers licence suspensions and 7-day vehicle impoundments.
