Wasaga Beach Mayor Brian Smith is refuting claims on social media, about what he terms “unsanitary behaviour” at the town’s beaches.
There have been posts making the rounds on Tik Tok and elsewhere that some beach goers are pooping in the sand.
The mayor has issued a statement saying there’s no evidence of this happening, and the posts are simply misinformation.
He adds there are abundant washroom facilities along the beach which he calls one of the safest and cleanest in the world.
