Celebrate the Art of Winter in Collingwood this Family Day.
The festival, which begins on Monday and runs through to February 27th, offers a variety of programs and opportunities that encourage us all to demonstrate our love for winter through artistic expression.
Some of the great outdoor activities include play, sport, snow art, visual art, history and more, while indoors, you can try on sledging, or an art workshop.
Pre-registration is required but participation is free.
Try creating snow people using our pail and your imagination, or just engage in some fun at our winter active play station. Maybe try a guided trail hike for those who enjoy snowshoeing, Nordic pole walking, and outdoor wildlife photography, or experience Forest Therapy.
Community involvement is also encouraged by being part of our Snowflake Project. We can provide the template for you to colour, draw or decorate in your own unique way or if you are super creative, cut out your own snowflake design and decorate it, paint it or bling it up. Bring your finished masterpiece to the Collingwood Museum where it will be put on display.
The museum will also be distributing pinecone bird feeder activity kits on Family Day at Central Park while supplies last and will be open for self-guided tours (pre-bookings recommended) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the new Launch Day exhibit and participate in the Snowflake Project.
