OPP continues to urge boating safety on area waterways.
Between June 5th and 8th, Southern Georgian Bay officers checked 45 vessels for equipment and impaired driving violations with a special attention paid to lifejacket and liquor violations.
Three people were cited for not having enough lifejackets for everyone aboard and four people for liquor-related offenses. Eight operators were cited for failing to have required equipment and speed-related offenses.
Police say three people operators who’d been drinking were given breathalyzers and one was handed a three-day license suspension after registering a warn.
