After getting an early taste of spring weather, normal temperatures return to the forecast today.
On Thursday the temperature reached:
- 16 degrees at Lake Simcoe Regional Airport, beating the previous record of 13.7°C in 2012
- 19 degrees in Collingwood, beating the record of 16.5°C from 2012
- 15 degrees at Muskoka Airport, beating the record of 14.1°C set back in 2010
The normal high for this time of year is plus 2.
The drastic temperature change came with high winds and thunderstorms in some areas last night, leading to several power outages.
There is plenty of sunshine in the weekend forecast, even though it will be cooler, and forecasters are eyeing a potential messy system early next week.
