Wasaga Beach councillors have had a look at the new design drawing for the new twin-pad arena and library.
A council committee approved the schematic earlier today.
It still needs to be approved by full council on January 26.
During the design phase, the facility has been put at just over 117 thousand gross square feet in total.
A staff report says the more refined design maintains a total project cost of almost 60 million dollars.
The next steps are to have the architect finalize design plans and construction drawings in preparation for tendering for construction later this year.
