Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most New Year’s Eve parties have been postponed until 2021, but there are still many ways you can celebrate from the safety and warmth of your own home.

Barrie’s Virtual Family Countdown on New Year’s Eve- In lieu of the traditional Downtown Countdown and following the advice of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, the City is hosting a virtual New Year’s Eve family hour, featuring a performance from family entertainment group Splash’N Boots. The show begins at 7 p.m.
CN Tower- The City of Toronto is preparing a light show on the CN Tower to celebrate the New Year. Starting at two minutes to midnight on Dec. 31, the city will stream the light display from atop Canada’s tallest tower, which will be streamed live online for free beginning at 11:58 p.m..
IllumiNATION! -The free virtual show takes you on a magical cross-Canada journey that will amaze young and old alike. Join us wherever you are as we discover talented Canadians sharing their light upon this special holiday season. ABRACADABRA NEW YEARS 2021 FESTIVAL – This 3-day festival includes more than 50 hours of free nonstop Music, Magic & Self-Love, featuring: John Legend, Kaskade, Major Lazer, Aloe Blacc, BLOND:ISH, Elrow ft. Claptone, Jermaine Dupri, Marc Rebillet, Poolside + more! The global event will raise money with all proceeds benefitting NIVA’s #SaveOutStages initiative.
NEW YEARS IN– New Years In will be a FAMILY-friendly show, featuring a dance party, magician, poodle dog show, a FAT clown, human slinky, mentalist, new years eve count down, interactive games, and we will be featuring surprise CELEBRITY guests. The event takes place from 7:30pm-9pm and a portion of the proceeds is going to the Daily Food Bread Bank. Tickets are $35 per family.
From Ontario With Love- Starting at 10:30 pm ET, From Ontario With Love: A Celebration of Hope will showcase a powerful, heartfelt 90 minute special free event. Justin Bieber NYE-Justin Bieber returns to the stage for his first live show since 2017 to kick off the New Year, in partnership with T-Mobile! Fans from around the world can tune into “T-Mobile Presents: NYE Live with Justin Bieber”, starting at 10:15 p.m. ET with concert access for $25.
New Year’s Rockin’ Eve- The annual event in Times Square will begin at 8pm tonight. It will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest with headliner Jennifer Lopez returning to the show after a decade, Cyndi Lauper saluting Broadway with “Kinky Boots” star Billy Porter, country singer Jimmie Allen, Miley Cyrus, Nelly, Brandy, En Vogue and rapper-rocker Machine Gun Kelly.
